Height Adjustable Desks

Height Adjustable Desks

Benefits of using a height adjustable desk :

  • More energy & focus : Standing keeps your blood flowing and mind more alert.  It's a lot harder to get sleepy at your desk if you're standing.  You are constantly aware of your body.
  • Increased fat burning : When we sit our fat burning enzymes start to shut down.  You burn 60 more calories an hour when standing versus sitting.
  • Posture & core strength : Standing all day and maintaining a good posture adds to the strength of your core.  This results in a lot less soreness in the back and tailbone compared to sitting for eight to ten hours a day.
  • Improved health : When you stand, you open up your internal organs, which allows everything to move.  Sitting cramps your gut and slows things down.
  • Affordable :  Yes that's right - affordable!  Height adjustable desks used to be expensive, but the price of adjustable height desking has considerably dropped over the last few years, meaning this style of desking is available to even those on a budget.

Client Testimonial :

Since acquiring my height adjustable desk I have found that I have more energy and am less tired at the end of the day. It is extremely beneficial to be easily able to step away from the screen which I do frequently whilst thinking and writing.  I wouldn’t ever go back to a ‘normal’ desk!

By reducing "excessive sitting" to less than three hours a day, life expectancy could increase by two years, according to a July 2012 study in BMJ Open.  Reducing TV time to less than two hours a day would bump it up by 1.4 years.

Disadvantages of sitting

A human being is not designed to spend hours hunched up in a chair, looking at screens on a fixed focal plane, and talking on the phone.
